The latest GP Patient Survey results have highlighted positive experiences of general practice across Coventry and Warwickshire, with the area ranked fourth in England for overall patient experience.
The 2026 survey, which ran from 1 January to 13 April 2026, received 12,680 responses from patients across Coventry and Warwickshire.
81% reported a positive overall experience
Overall, 81% of patients said their experience of their GP practice was good or very good – an increase from last year and above the national average of 77%.
The results also highlight positive experiences across several areas of access and patient care:
- 64% found it easy to get through to their practice by phone, compared with 57% nationally.
- 88% rated the helpfulness of receptionists positively, compared with 85% nationally.
- 51% had booked an appointment online.
- 60% found it easy to contact their practice using the NHS App.
- 62% found their practice website easy to use.
- 86% knew what the next step in their care would be after contacting their practice, while 90% knew when the next step would be.
Positive experiences of care
Patients also reported high levels of confidence and trust in the healthcare professionals they saw, with 94% saying they had confidence and trust in their healthcare professional.
Other positive findings included:
- 91% said their needs were met.
- 88% said they were listened to by a healthcare professional.
- 87% said they were treated with care and concern.
- 92% said they were involved as much as they wanted to be in decisions about their care and treatment.
- 77% said their mental wellbeing was considered.
A special congratulations also goes to Budbrooke Medical Centre, which achieved an exceptional 100% overall patient experience score, making it one of only two practices in England to achieve this result.
These findings reflect the continued commitment of general practice teams and everyone working alongside them to provide high-quality, accessible care and positive experiences for patients across Coventry and Warwickshire.

The GP Patient Survey is an independent national survey run by Ipsos on behalf of NHS England. It is sent to a random selection of patients registered with GP practices across England, giving patients the opportunity to share their experiences of their GP practice and local primary care services.
