Patient services

Our team is commissioned to provide specialist or extended GP services within local communities.

Supporting practices

Our practice support provides additional resources, specialist skills and cost-effective bulk purchasing to strengthen primary care.

Enabling Primary Care Networks

We provide recruitment, business management and clinical support depending on PCN requirements.

System-wide services

We provide clinical and admin services across Coventry & Warwickshire in partnership with Integrated Primary Care.

GP-led services to strengthen primary care

Our organisation is GP-led, with most of our board members working directly in general practice alongside their federation responsibilities.

This means our services are rooted in primary care and based on live experience of pressures, opportunities and challenges.

Service delivery is led by our Senior Management Team, some of whom worked in practices prior to joining the federation.

The mix of skills across our leadership team provides the competencies and experience to develop and deliver quality services that meet the needs of our member practices and communities.

Quality at the heart of our work

Our in-house quality and compliance team is responsible for overseeing all compliance relating to SWGP and the services we provide.

Through a combination of initiatives, our work is regularly monitored and strengthened, drawing on a combination of stakeholder feedback and formal assessments.

Principal activities include:

  • Annual audit programme of clinical and patient admin processes
  • Continuous patient feedback for SWGP-led services
  • Complaints and compliments policies and process
  • Annual Staff and member practice surveys
  • Annual training needs analysis

The team also provides a quality support offer to member practices.

Adaptable, responsive services

Healthcare is constantly changing and demand for services remains high.

As a federation, we have evolved considerably to respond to these changing needs. Service development is discussed regularly at formal shareholder meetings (three to four times yearly) and at annual reviews with individual practices.

We encourage members to contribute their ideas and feedback continuously so that services can be adapted to new circumstances.
