There are three main ways SWGP Federation works with partners:
Federation-wide:
Working with our member practices and PCNs to deliver high quality services as efficiently as we can.
South Warwickshire-wide:
Working with other NHS, public and voluntary sector organisations to deliver joined up care across South Warwickshire Place South Warwickshire Place.
System-wide:
Working with Coventry & Warwickshire Integrated Care Board and other system partners to deliver services at scale, including providing services through Integrated Primary Care.
How is the NHS structured?
What’s the purpose of a GP Federation?
GP practices need to work even more efficiently to meet growing demands for health services resulting from a growing population, people living longer, and the continued impact of the Covid-19 pandemic
GP Federations are organisations that represent groups of practices to deliver services at scale. This can include patient services as well as back-office functions and contract savings where bulk purchasing or centralised processing is more cost effective.
Federations were one of the first ways GP practices started to collaborate and they continue to provide a role in supporting individual practices and PCNs where it makes sense to deliver services centrally.
SWGP was established in 2014. Since then, we have grown to support member practices in delivering enhanced access out of typical surgery hours, leading the Covid response, providing admin and clinical resilience staff to plug gaps in resources.
