We are delighted to announce a new member of our team, Dr Melinda Wood.
Melinda joins SWGP as Clinical Director where her responsibilities will cover HR and additional roles (ARRS). She will be a member of the Senior Management Team and sit on the Federation board.
Alongside her role at SWGP, Melinda continues as GP Partner at Harbury Surgery where she works six sessions a week. Melinda has been a GP for six years and last year she was one of the first Clinical Directors for Warwickshire East Primary Care Network (PCN) and was involved in setting up the nascent PCN.
Prior to medicine, Melinda worked as a research scientist for large pharmaceutical companies, including GSK and Millennium Pharmaceuticals, and spin off projects from the University of Oxford. She holds a PhD in research into breast cancer from the University of Birmingham.
Melinda looks forward to representing the voice of rural practices alongside those of our colleagues and work together to create a sustainable and resilient GP workforce.
