Patients across South Warwickshire are urged to get a free flu vaccination this autumn.
Over the last two years, there have been very low levels of the influenza virus due to COVID-19 restrictions which reduced social contact. This means that there may be a rebound in influenza levels this coming winter because people will be mixing more. People may also be more susceptible to influenza as they have not been exposed to the virus.
We therefore invite anyone who is eligible for a free NHS flu vaccination and a COVID-19 booster to take up the offer as soon as possible, to protect yourself and others.
Alternatively, if you’re not eligible for a free NHS flu vaccination, you can still protect yourself by getting a flu vaccination privately. This costs £16.99 and you can book in at your local pharmacy.
